Clean Energy Investor Group strongly advocates for an efficient transition to a clean energy system from the perspective of the stakeholders who will provide the low-cost capital needed to achieve it. CEIG represents Australian and global renewable energy developers and investors with more than 11 GW of installed renewable energy capacity across more than 70 power stations and a combined portfolio value of around $24 billion.
As federal, state and territory governments consider policy support to decarbonise the National Energy Market, CEIG has developed private investor positions, in partnership with the Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC), on collaborating with government on public ownership of renewable energy to achieve a 1.5 degree outcome.
CEIG has identified a number of strategic initiatives to support its members. These include advocating for urgent reform to grid access and congestion management as well as the future of transmission planning and investment in the NEM.
As federal, state and territory governments consider the future design of the National Electricity Market, CEIG has developed the Clean Energy Investor Principles, supported by expert modelling from Rennie Partners, to show we can unlock the low-cost capital Australia needs to accelerate the clean energy transformation.
